Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Roast My Sales Email ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our Service, how we use it, and your rights. We keep this straightforward because that's how we'd want to be treated.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Email address โ€” collected when you submit a roast request. This is used to send your results and, with your consent, to keep you updated on the tool.
  • Email content โ€” the cold email text you paste into the roast tool. This is processed by our AI model to generate feedback and then stored to improve our service and as part of your roast history.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address โ€” collected for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not use your IP address for advertising or profiling.
  • Usage data โ€” basic analytics (page views, referral source, country) collected via Vercel Analytics. No cookies are set for this purpose.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate and deliver your email roast
  • To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
  • To send you roast results and, if opted in, product updates via Kit (ConvertKit)
  • To improve the quality of the AI feedback over time
  • To monitor aggregate usage and service health

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate:

  • Anthropic โ€” the AI provider that powers the roast engine. Email content is sent to Anthropic's API for processing and is subject to their Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase โ€” our database provider, used to store leads and roast results. Data is stored in a secure, access-controlled cloud database.
  • Kit (ConvertKit) โ€” used to manage email communications for users who opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.
  • Vercel โ€” our hosting provider. Vercel may collect basic request metadata (IP, user agent) as part of normal server operations.
  • Upstash โ€” used for rate limiting. Only IP address and request count data are stored, with a short TTL.

5. Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. The only cookies that may be set are strictly necessary session cookies required to operate the Service. We do not use any third-party advertising networks.

6. Data Retention

We retain roast results and associated email addresses indefinitely unless you request deletion. IP addresses used for rate limiting are stored with a short TTL and automatically purged. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable privacy laws. These may include the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.

10. Contact Us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests related to this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please reach out to us via the contact information on our website. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
